The Recreation Commission is a group of volunteers who live in Laurel Springs. Meetings are held to discuss and promote ideas and events that can bring the community together as well as support our youth. The Recreation Commission has brought back youth sports through the Laurel Springs Youth Association and hopes to have teams together for the springs of 2015. The Commission is very proud to be a part of this small town, with a precious history and a vibrant sense of community. They constantly seek ideas and opportunities to preserve the history and pride of Laurel Springs. With this giant stake in the community, they organize events throughout the year as well as maintain the Jack Hagen Recreation Complex for our citizens. Income is generated from outside organizations that rent our beautiful fields. The complex also boasts a beautiful recreation hall which is available for rentals. Through grants and other forms of income, they continuously upgrade and beautify the complex and hold events for everyone to enjoy. Please visit us periodically to be informed of news and events.

Hall Rental General Information

The hall will seat 100 comfortably and tables and chairs are provided. There are 14 60” round tables and 6 rectangular tables (four 8’ and two 6’ foot). There is a full size refrigerator, ice machine, stove and microwave, but cooking is not allowed. Only heating or warming of food is allowable. There is also a small playground next to the hall where small children can play.
Renting Procedures

If the date is available on the calendar, print the hall rental application from the website. Mail the completed application with a $200.00 security deposit (refundable) and a copy of the declaration page of your homeowner’s policy to: Borough of Laurel Springs, c/o Cathy Sims, 135 Broadway, Laurel Springs, NJ 08021. If you do not have homeowner’s insurance, see below under “insurance”.

Insurance

Individual renters must provide a proof of homeowner’s insurance. The declaration page is acceptable if the liability limits are indicated. If not, a complete copy of the policy is required. Proof of insurance must be submitted the Monday before the event.
Security Deposit

A $200.00 refundable security deposit is required to be paid at the time the hall rental application is submitted. This will confirm and hold your date. Laurel Springs will use the security deposit for any damage caused by the renter. Any unused portion of the security deposit will be returned. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE APPLICATION COULD RESULT IN THE LOSS OF SECURITY DEPOSIT.
Clean Up After Event

All tables and chairs must be returned as you found them. All trash must be disposed of in the dumpster outside of the kitchen and the floor must be swept. No mopping or any other cleaning is required
